So THAT's the deal with airline food!
So, as this post title suggests, I have finished with the first two major legs of my journey (the trip to O’Hare and the flight into Heathrow). The airline I was on (United Airlines stateside, British Midland International across the pond) provided dinner and a small breakfast. They were OK; I’ve definitely had better and I’ve unfortunately had worse (the food on the Amtrack train going into Arkansas comes immediately to mind). I’m now in Heathrow, which is HUGE! I know that this is kind of a “duh” statement, but it looks exactly like in Love Actually (at least in terms of behind the security checkpoint, I dunno about the arrivals gate), which made me happy. That was something that irked me though; I had to go through another security checkpoint in order to get to the flight connections, when I had already gone through security in O’Hare. It’s fine; the security took like 5 minutes, but it was just a surprise. In other news, my neck still stings from the seatbelt burn, but it hurts a lot less now. I’ll keep you updated as I continue my journey.
PS: Currency in Heathrow is confusing, as they simultaneously use Euros and the pound system.
